Setup Notes
The following notes may help you configure your adsl modem. Some of the
notes assume some previous knowledge. Please refer to supplied documentation
for additonal information.
- Quick guide to configuring the m-adsl-usb-c50
Ensure your computer is running the lastest service packs and updates
and there are no devices or software that may conflict with the adsl
modem.
Power down the computer and connect the C50 to the computer with the
adsl line connected to the modem. Boot up the computer and on loading
windows you should be presented with a New Hardware wizard. Follow the
onscreen prompts, inserting the driver CD (or path to where you have
extracted the downloaded driver) when necessary. Unless you have been
told other wise by your ISP, you'll be installing the Wan driver (PPPoA).
After the install has finished you will have AccessRunner icons on your
desktop. By running the AccessRunner control panel you can check the
settings for your modem. (Advanced settings can be reached by pressing
ALT-P or CTRL-P in the control panel.) You should ensure the following
UK settings under the Protocol tab:
| VPI |
VCI |
Protocol |
| 0 |
38 |
PPPoA VC Mux |
When that has been checked, close the control panel and open the AccessRunner
dialup icon from the desktop. Enter your username and password (exactly
as given by your ISP). Once you have entered your information you are
ready to connect to the internet.
